Stand Up to Cancer

Give for love, give for life!

Cancer takes more than one person every minute. One life in a moment. They are our brothers, our sisters, our fathers and mothers, our husbands and wives, our best friends, our children, ourselves.

Every day in America over 4800 people are diagnosed with cancer and yet the means for them to become long-term survivors are within our reach.

Inspired to act by our own personal experiences with cancer, SU2C is calling on the public to invest in this movement that has changed the way scientists and clinicians work to understand and treat these diseases.

Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) – a division of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization – brings innovative approaches to the fight against cancer. SU2C is a populist-movement recognized for its effectiveness in raising and committing funds to foster collaborative, innovative research that is accelerating the pace at which new therapies move from the laboratory to the patient.

Stand Up To Cancer has brought together the best minds to change the paradigm of cancer research. SU2C is focused on bringing new ideas from the laboratory bench to patients in the clinic. From its revolutionary “Dream Team” concept that brings together top researchers from different institutions to work together on promising new approaches, to compete against cancer – not against each other, SU2C has continued to innovate across all aspects of cancer research. Using SU2C research grants, dozens of potential medicines have been tested, five new cancer therapies have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, and additional therapies are nearing submission to the FDA. SU2C-supported research has made significant advances in immunotherapy and epigenetics resulting in expansive new opportunities to treat cancer.

The collective body of SU2C research has the potential to impact the treatment of a wide range of cancers in both adults and children that are associated with more than 87% of cancer diagnoses and three-quarters of all U.S. cancer deaths.

Since 2009, Stand Up To Cancer and Mastercard have collaborated on numerous campaigns in an effort to make every cancer patient a survivor. In 2011, SU2C and Mastercard launched an annual, summer restaurant campaign, inviting cardholders to give back through the simple act of dining out. The donations driven by Mastercard’s generous cardholders have helped provide support for translational cancer research conducted in the Stand Up To Cancer model.
